Davison opens himself up to risk of ending up on the "unpaid creditor" list by being a contractor of Tekno (Will Davison Pty Ltd, the arrangement most drivers use, right?) rather than an employee, with employee protections...
Contractors always have less rights than employees, do they not, in any area of business? That's why business are so keen to use contractors rather than take on employees, no?
At least with Tekno staying solvent, Mr. Davison has some hope of recovering his dues unlike the (all too common) creditors left behind by bankrupt motorsport entities!
