I wonder whether RBR problems are due to the fact they wont use the Renault recommended lubricants and fuels because of a commercial arrangement.

Renault and McLaren both use BP/Castrol, but Red Bull have signed up with ExxonMobil instead.

They're the only customer team in 2018 to differ from their engine provider's works team.

Toto Wolff made a comment on this factor:
