Alan Brown should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Gregor,
Have you been a little harsh on Paul Lawrence? The article was a piece of nostalgia. Most of it was correct although there were errors. The fact that very few of the cars are seen these days may have suggested that many have not survived. The picture of Mallory Park, which I think is the Easter Monday Supersaloon race won by Doug Niven was illustrative of the first year of Supersaloons. Mistakes include Nick Whiting used an FVC in 1974, not a GAA. The Super Saloon Association was formed in 1974 at the Silverstone meeting during which Big Bertha met its end, although Tony Strawson and Tony Hazlewood “organised” a race at Silverstone in October 1973. Did Martin Birrane race that Capri in 1974?
