I had a couple of alfasuds. I wrote one off (a Ti) at about 5mph. It was the mid seventies and I was crawling along in the queue of an Army road stop (NI) when I noticed my cartridge belt sitting on the floor in front of the passenger seat. (I had left it there after some Pheasant shooting at the weekend). I reached over to tuck it in under the seat out of sight, when the guy in front - I think it was a Hillman Avenger - with a tow bar-, hit the brakes while I sailed merrily on. The papier mache front end folded up pushing the rad into the fan, which then bent its way onto the timing belt causing it to jump a few notches, and that was that.
Phoned the bro and got a tow home. Thems was the days
