F1 is a unique case in that 90% of its worldwide audience are people who are not die hard motor sport enthusiasts. They would start watching more football, or tennis etc.

I agree.
If F1 died, no one would benefit, so I'm not even going to vote.
Any real motor racing fan probably watch these series anyway. The only viewers lost would be the casual viewers just interested in the spectacle of F1.
