I would expect that an education in broadcasting or possibly broadcast journalism would be helpful.
Start now practicing calling races and recording yourself. Create a portfolio.
Get involved wit a local club or circuit and see about getting involved at that level to start.
Lastly, learn about what you're commentating. There's nothing more appalling than a commentator that doesn't know his arse from a hole in the ground.
