It'd help all the cars if they could go back to an Audi R8/R10 or Bentley Speed 8 type raised nose, sort of like the Toyota runs now. Of course, the Toyota (as well as the others mentioned) ran/runs a more conventional front diffuser that ran at least to the front wheel centerline (or close to it).

Using the front diffuser as basically a twin or (more commonly) single element wing as opposed to a diffuser is what's driven the raised nose. It'd also help if they could get rid of the tuning vanes and crap like that on all the cars. It helped with the LMP1s this year.

Of course, I still like how simple the LMP900s and 675s and even early LMP1s and LMP2s looked. I wish there was also a more elegant solution than the fender holes and dorsal fin to deal with flips, but we're stuck with them until one is found.

But this is what happens when progress happens to get back what rules makers try and take away. As much as it may or may not suck, there's not much we can do about it--you can't unteach what has been learned.

The DPIs IMO look the best, even with the weird "wings" on the Acura and ESM Nissan. The Oreca looks like Valeo had a clearance on Peugeot 908 headlights.
