Norman Lackford

Announced today on the CCRC website, Special Saloon fans and Castle Combe regulars will be saddened to hear that Norman Lackford passed away on October 6th.

Norman, whose career lasted over fifty years, started out in 1969 in an MAE engined Anglia before putting the engine in an Escort. Following on from the Escort was an Imp engined Fiat 850 which evolved into a BDA engined car.

Moving to Cornwall in the nineties meant that Castle Combe became Norman's local circuit and he became a staunch supporter of the Special GT championship, firstly with a self built Saxon sports racer before moving onto a Radical Prosport and finally a Radical PR6. RIP Norman.
