Have read the Goss story in AMC on his (Citibank) Group A Jaguar XJS.
Something doesn't stack up. I've heard that the Group C survived to run in club racing (stories in Australian Jaguar Mag), but we don't know for a fact (though it was claimed to be ex Goss Group C) whose it was, though I believe Wilmington still has his.
I've also heard about the Citibank Group A Jag was a Walkinshaw shell that returned to the UK became a green machine and sold off by Tom to some unsuspecting punter.
But if Gossy still has this car (how recent is the photo) then this story is not true - another urban myth.
If Goss maintained both the Group C and Group A logbooks then he can do anything with the "Citibank Jag." Its not as if this sort of thing hasn't happened before.
I recall a mate, who has a very good Group C knowledge (he raced them in period) telling me that at an historic meeting at Queensland Raceway "the only thing authentic thing about the Group C paddock was the sight of Bob Holden trying to get his Escort to run on four cylinders!"
I suspect that the AMC mailbag will have a few letters on the Goss Jag, and we might get closer to the truth...
