Picking out those two was probably a mistake to be honest. As you state they're already in F1 now. They've proved their worth.
It was really a case of pondering / noticing that drivers seemed to come into F1 much later in the 70s and 80s.
Would that be down to beastlier cars?
Experience being favoured over pure speed?
Now the cars are even more expensive and yet trusted to younger (in theory less experienced) drivers.
