If I remember correctly they were as close as this through most of the Angia and Escort days in the sixties. I have photos showing them at the Motor Show 200 of 1969 with the positions reversed for a change, but I think CC got ahead in the end.
I also remember JF apologising to Ray Calcutt after a race at Brands Hatch for putting a (very small) dent in the boot of his Fraser Imp during the first lap sort out, cannot imagine any of the current lot doing that these days!
