Thanks for that explanation - not quite such a rare siting after all then! 'My' Spitfire had black & white wing markings, if that offers any clue as to where it came from. I had no idea such flights were available but I haven't been in the country much lately. However, I do get personalised air displays over my back garden if the son of a near neighbour happens to spot me when he flies over. I'm sure his low-level double barrel-rolls wouldn't meet with approval in some places!
