I'm doing some research on my grandfather, Mike Pendleton. He competed in several disciplines during the early 60's.
A brief overview of his racing career:
- pre-60 : I think he may have started his racing career driving a Lotus SS, but I don't have any more information
- 1960-61 : competed in Formula Junior in a Condor Ford. Car developed by his good friends Ted Whiteaway and Mike Thorburn.
- 1962 : purchased the Lister-Costin (#BHL130) from Mike Anthony. Registered the car with number YCD 422. Raced in sports car races across England.
- 1963 : purchased Lotus 19 (#953) which he raced around the UK and overseas. Race of note, 1963 Nassau Speedweek in the Bahamas.
- 1964 : raced the ex-Salvadori Jaguar MkII 3.8 (1628 VC) around the UK and Europe, with John Sparrow.
If anybody has any stories/photos/information on him I would love to hear from you!
