They're customer cars first and foremost. The entire ethos of the ruleset is to not rely on manufacturer support. Sure, national arms of manufacturers kick the tin in some cases though.

You want Astra TCR parts, you order from Kissling Motorsport in Germany, not OPC. Opel are not directly involved. Opel Switzerland kicks the tin to a limited extent for Ms Preisig, due to family dealership connections, but that's about it. Honda; J.A.S., Renault; Vukovic, Lada; Lubner, the Alfa; Romeo Ferraris, and so on.

Hyundai, Peugeot and VAG are kind of different, in that their motorsport divisions are involved. But, nothing stopping someone from setting up perhaps as an Asia-Pacific agent (given the strength of the various TCR series in the Asian regions, they probably already exist), just as MPC have done for Audisport, and now Cupra Motorsport for the TCR thing.

Hell, plenty of GT3 and 4 cars running around in Aus with no locally-based customer support. You want parts for your GT3 Gallardo or Camaro? You're ringing Reiter in Germany. These constructors are geared up to support the owners of these cars, similar to how Triple Eight operates here.
