Motus One confirms three-car Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK campaign

Goodyear Touring Car Trophy organisers are pleased to welcome Motus One, a new team to the series that will be bringing three cars to this year’s TCR UK grid.
Following a successful testing programme at the end of last year, Motus One acquired a trio of Civic TCRs supported by official Honda specialists JAS Motorsport. All three cars will compete for the full six-meeting, 14-round Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK season.
Motus One has confirmed its driver line-up will comprise team boss Will Powell, saloon racing regular Dave Scaramanga and newcomer Danny Krywyj, who’ll be embarking on his debut season.
Commenting on the arrival of the new team, Goodyear Touring Car Trophy boss Stewart Lines said: “I’m delighted to welcome Motus One, having been impressed by their fast rise in GT racing and notably running the official Brabham BT62 programme.
“Their three-car TCR UK entry represents another significant step forward for our series, as we continue to attract new teams and drivers to the grid and develop the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy as a whole.”
Will Powell, Motus One managing director and pro-driver said: “We’ve made no secret of our ambition to add touring cars to the team’s activities and the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy has made that viable for us in 2021.
“Our strong relationship with Goodyear - who I’ve raced for and we work closely with on our Brabham BT62 programme - along with the plans to promote and grow the TCR package in the UK, makes this a great fit for us. As always, we aim to win on the track but respect the calibre of teams we’re up against. It’ll be a year of learning and fighting for everything we can. I can’t wait to start the season!”
Motus One is adding the TCR programme to its existing GT campaigns and has engaged a squad of experienced touring car engineers and technicians to supplement its operations. Consequently, the team aims to hit the ground running and be competitive from first round at Anglesey in April.
