sounds awesome, We do a similar distance to get the Bathurst (although its freeway most of the way)
I recommend not arriving at 2 am, just ruins you for the rest of the weekend and makes the trip home long as well
You will notice the significant crowd size in comparison to 12 hour, and as result, much less access to places, even things like finding a place to sit is much more difficult. as long as you are prepared for that you will have a ball
