Post war cars weren't admitted until 1963 and then only pre 1954 and for that one year they ran in the Historic Seaman. It wasn't until 1965 or 1966 that the 2 1/2 litre formula cars were accepted.
The last race of the day was always a handicap and had the added spice of a few survivors from the Trophy races to liven the proceedings.
In those days "historic" racing was the VSCC. Then JCB came along and changed everything.

The first historic racing I saw was in 1982. Really odd looking at photos of that period (and earlier) to see sports and single-seaters racing together, as in JCB and Lloyds & Scottish.
