Presumably if they trundle round behind the SC prior to a grid re-start they will not need a warm up lap. I guess if the cars were stopped they would need a warm up lap.

Also another consideration might be to the broadcasters.... even though reduced the lap count continues behind the SC, it is still counting down which it would not if stopped in pitlane. We dont want to have GPs being run to time certain finishes so the TV channels can maintain their programme schedules.
