No, you misunderstood what I said. If I could forecast the result of a race I'd be down at the bookies every time and be a very rich man by now and probably not bother posting on here!
No, what I meant was that as a race evolves you could usually work out who were the likely podium contenders. Now you can't. It's more like a lottery. If that's what floats your boat, fine, but I'm not so keen.
