A longer car allows you to do more with the aero. Easy to move the air and avoid sudden stalling.

One thing you want to balance from an aero point of view is matching the center of the aero load to be where the center of gravity is. That keeps things consistent at all speeds.

I am incredulous that no one has ever discussed this before. Thickos.
