No sorry Sparky Steve, it was rubbish design, spoilt implementation ruining/concealing some decent engineering, suicidal unions and outbreaks of disgraceful assembly which doomed BL. Shame it took so long.
(Nothing I said should be taken as applying to Leyland trucks about which I have no knowledge.)
