Here in (ok, "around") Toronto, we've had IMSA at Mosport and the IndyCar race a week apart for the past few years, which is also a bit frustrating. I have to think that there are fans who might go to both if they were separated by a month or more (I would).
Until recently, those were the two biggest motorsport events in this neck of the woods... now the NASCAR Camping World trucks on Labour Day weekend at Mosport is I'm sure the biggest draw. At least that and the Indy are nice and far apart. It would be interesting to know how much crossover there is between attendees.
