Thats not rear diffuser you see, its the side fenders that are on any gt500/dtm car right now. Car in the pic looks full gt500 spec as we have seen the cars in 2018.
From marketing point and the toyota/supra in jgtc/supergt it would make sense to come back. Or even running their cars supra/lc500 or some in EU and some in Japan at some point.

I'm not sure what you're looking at, but imo the rear of the car shows an upward shape of a rear diffuser on the Supra concept. Plus there is no bodywork attached. The gt500's have a downward triangle shape and the rear diffuser is not visible beyond the rear bodywork. The side view looks like a diffuser compared to this
