I went to find the site of brooklands about 3 weeks ago.
I have only been to caversham twice. last time would have been two and a half years ago. The late Julian Cowan and his wife set up a day and sadly Julian didnt get to make it. There was not much left by then. only the two set of bridge supports and the markings on the grid.
The tyres are still in the ground two still painted white after all these years.
The RAAF still own the ground and there is a caravan park on the edge of the track!
Talking of Don O'Sullivan I caught up with his race engineer yesterday. Jamie Gard. the Builder of the Gardos's and Don Hall was also up at Wannaroo yesterday with his son William.
