Yep, he ran a FF (could have been an Elwyn?) at the FF AGP support race in 1986, where he was running in the top 5 until he crashed with Andrew Gubb at the chicane. Gardner, not best pleased about it, gave Gubb the finger as he exited the car...
He also tried to qualify a Shrike in the 1990 FH AGP support race, but crashed at the chicane during qualifying, and then had another car crash into the wreck. The car couldn't be fixed in time for the races.
