glyn parham should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Does anyone remember the day when Anita Taylor got the Broadspeed Anglia and herself on the front pages of the national papers?
It was the day after the August Bank Holiday meeting at Brands Hatch and Anita had written off the car after a huge roll going down Paddock Hill, good reason for Fleet Streets finest to put "scary pictures" on the front page, accompanied, of course, with a "glamour" shot of Anita.
The reason for the headlines was that, as she was rescued from the car by Brands finest marshalls, her first words were "Have I marked my face". They must have been bemused, but Anita was really worried as she was getting married the following Saturday and did not want to walk down the aisle looking as though she had just completed ten rounds with Henry Cooper.
Dave M, do you have any photos of Ralph Broad racing (usually in Minis), as I seem to remember John Fitzpatrick saying in an interview many years ago that he spent most of his time watching races from behind bushes, trees etc as he was not the best of drivers? And to continue the Broadspeed thread, what about the Group 2 Escorts, Capri etc, which brings us back to Dave Matthews, who if he didn't marry Anita Taylor, also ended a fine racing career whilst driving for Broadspeed in that terrible accident at the Silverstone GP meeting
