As the 3 year contracts are finished at the end of 2010 for all the GP2 teams there will now be applications from teams that wish to run in 2011 to 2013. With the now mandatory Asia and Euro aspect to the championship I am expecting to see some teams go and some new ones arrive. The GP2 organisation has the ultimate say on entries and can pick and choose which teams look to be stable enough to run for 3 years financially as well as being potentially competitive. I was suprised to hear that ORT may be for sale after only running for 2 years. 2009 certainly added value to the old uncompetitive BCN team which ORT purchased at the end of 2008. We can only assume they took the final 2 years of the BCN 3 year contract with GP2.
ORT got off to a flying start this season but alas have dropped right off the radar. With today's qualifying result in Valencia they are likely to start reducing the teams value back to the BCN mark from 2008. Maybe it's not a good time to sell?
