flywheels make no difference, the problem with Alfa ( and Lancia) heads is the ports are too big . . . . no low lift flow = horrible torque curve . . . . .also explains why the 'new' Alfa heads are made with smaller ports.
I've seen a fair few old school lotus heads done in a similar way, likewise V6 and Ford V8 heads . . . . 70's hot rod tuning!
