I say it with your own words, 'like they have it at FIA F1 races'! FIA F1, GT1 and WTCC events have their own very special medical regulations. It is not for all events under FIA sporting, technical and safety regulations always necessary that a medical helicopter must be there! I give you an example.
For a race meeting with the 'BOSS GP' series you need (or better the circuit/organiser):
- a chief medical officer
- minimum of two medical intervention cars, one must be able to follow the first lap
- extrication team
- temporary medical centre or better
- minimum of two ambulance (with or without doctor)
- extra medical service for the public
Things like helicopter, doctor on foot, extra doctor/paramedic for the pitlane, specialists team for the medical centre, etc. are recommended and possible but not mandatory!
