So saddened by this, Simon was an influential part in my desire to get into motorsport writing, once I realised I was never going to be a driver.
We shared a huge passion for F3000!
His reports always carried some humour and accute insight, combined with the facts.
For me he was a one off, a quirky, humorous character, an enthusiast through and through and a very kind and polite man.
