Michael H should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well done, Marcos. A superb lap. And yes, Jim was driving at the max, and so smooth.
Marcos reminds me of Rickard Rydell, in that now we see that the old saying that new drivers can't hack Bathurst is not true. All you have to do is, firstly, be a good driver, but the more important factor, is to know your car extremely well. Ambrose has done this. All he had to do was learn the track, which he has done quickly, and the rest is history. Whereas it took Rydell a year before he got pole after his first trip, Marcos has done it on debut. A fine effort.

Apparently he is the first rookie to get pole since Klaus Ludwig. That put's him up there in fine company . Alain Menu almost got pole in 1997 on his debut. But who can forget Ludwig's lap. It was awesome. As far as I know, Ludwig never returned to bathurst after 1987, although I read somewhere that he was very keen to come back in 1988.
