Yes you can use a car that has more than 2 valves per cylinder as long as it was done by the manufacturer so normally a 1300/1400cc 16v car would be used such as a Lupo or Polo.
Stockhatch basically has 3 capacity splits within the one class:
16v car (Hot Hatch) which cannot be older than 10 years
8v car which cannot be older than 1995
New 1.5 td class
Car with more than 2 valves per cylinder can be used but only up to 1600cc and only if manufacturer made it this way.
Hot Hatch 1600cc 16v class in above and British Champs is for standard production cars no older than 10 years from when manufacturer ceased production of the that model.
