For now it seems like a joke and in general I don't see any reason to seperate Cupra from Seat, especially consdering the fact that Seat is not a huge brand. But when it comes to the cars, as far as I know, it is only a temporary situation that Cupras are the same as Seats. In the future, Cupras will have separate cars.
But I think Seat will lose its identity. Seat has been Volkswagen 2 or Audi 2 or Skoda 2 for some time but what was characteristic was that Seat has always been 'sporty' type of brand. Many of their cars have such a vibe (ok, not all of them but still). But now, when Cupra is this 'sporty' brand, what Seat is then all about? Cheaper and poorer Audi? Well, then you'd rather go for VW.
For me completely unreasonable move.
