Old cars vs new and modern

So a lot of people on the forum seem to like older cars e.g < 2002. What's your thoughts?

The general argument is old cars are easier to maintain and repair. Is this a myth or actually true?

New cars have all the technology but it's more to go wrong... electric mirrors, built in sat nav, bluetooth and USB etc etc. I've heard new cars need a special machine just to get a diagnosis or error code.

On the other hand for old cars, you've got to pick one that isn't a shed or rust bucket.
