The one thing I'm wondering about is whether any of your GPL files are (or have become) read only. Highlight and check properties and uncheck any read-onlys and see if that makes any difference. (I'm clutching at straws - its difficult enough sorting out your own GPL problems let alone trying to do it remotely for someone else when you can't actually see whats in the folders......
