Lack of torque on the 2 litre is often due to the flywheel weight as you for sure know. No doubt is has been the best production engine of its era but when it comes to severe alterations the power figures are somewhat disappointing. Hard to read more than 143 HP for a compliant FIA Group 1 and if you hit the 180 HP barrier for an affordable Group 2 you must be happy. The way it delivers torque and its reliability are enjoyable. OK, I'm not a good judge for it, I'm in love with those cars and engines.
