Fun topic: Champions and Rookies of the Year and their ages.

I was bored and wanted to find out who were the oldest and youngest champions and RotY in CART/Champ Car. The results amy be a bit surprising.

For the champions the oldest is Al Unser, Sr. at 46 and the youngest is Jacques Villeneuve at 24. The average age of the champion is 33 years old.

For the Rookie of the Year the oldest is Bob Lazier at 43 and the youngest is Scott Dixon at 21. There are four drivers who won it at 23: John Jones, Jacques Villeneuve, Tony Kanaan, and Timo Glock. The average age for the RotY is 25.

One other thing: 1991 is the only year where both champs were family members: Michael Andretti won the championship and his brother John was the Rookie of the Year.
