Let's be frank - if all else is equal I'd take a factory driver over a driver who isn't. It sucks for Alex to be passed over again, but it's not hard to understand the decision from what we know here.
But hopefully he has found himself something more substantial and high-profile. For all the talk of how sportscars is the go-to place for young single-seater drivers, it is becoming increasingly odd to see somewhat as good as Brundle miss out.
