Can you give us a few more clues - colour, evidence of previous colours below current one, area of the country where found, details on any scrutineering tickets or advertising on the car? Are the wheel arches cut out or wide arches fitted?
I am assuming the Alfa engine was a period fitting and not a recent addition. Does the car look to have been 'retired' from competition many years ago?
The registration number would indicate what part of the country the car was originally registered.
