He held a 'very powerful' FF1600 record for years [1.02.2s I think], but it got beaten towards the end of the circuits race meetings in 1982. I think it may have gone down to about 1.01.6s - by whom, heaven knows. In the early 90s' I recall Crossle testing that Costin bodied Crossle FF1600 jobbo with a South African on board and he was lapping about 1.00.0s
