What do people make of VanDoorne? He was 'the next big thing' according to McLaren but he's not really shone so far - ok so some of that is car related but is he doing enough to justify his seat? This weekend he was nowhere near Alonso in qualifying and then in the race finished behind Alonso despite Alonso racing with a damaged floor all afternoon. You get the impression that if Alonso left then McLaren would be in big trouble (much like Williams are now without Massa).
