That article was published last year. Mallay and his companies have defaulted on many loans that used shares in various companies as security.

As the companies that now control those shares have little, if any, desire to be involved in F1 it is obvious that they will try to sell those shares when possible. Also as control of the majority of the shares changes the position of Mallaya as team principal will be in doubt.
