OK, we camp at TR every year, and it is a very popular site, unlike the other sites it is marked pitches but on a first come basis so you choose your pitch, for that reason it is usually the first choice for early arrivals and by tuesday is already very full, after that it is hard to find a good spot. Access in and out is easy apart from the slow travel alongside the circuit during busy periods. You can easily walk to the TR corner entry point and catch the tram into the city, and only a short trip to the huge carrefore for supplies. You can also walk to shops or to the decathlon for equipement. Yes it is noisy during the race and qualy sessions but security is good and you can see the track from the campsite. However getting camping tickets is very difficult and you will need to get your order in with an agency soon to get a chance of one, the ACO and tourist office have waiting lists for the passes they have. Other sites are also good with Houx and maison Blanche having allocated spaces if you arrive Wednesday or after. Beermountain has good discriptions of all the sites so have a look on that site.
