It's a slap in the face to say that you need to get people through the gates to make an event like Speedmachine to work. Lydden got people through the gates* and was working, without all the sideshow. It seems that the bloke doesn't understand that rallycross is a great spectacle in itself, concentrate on that and the people will come.
*getting them back out through the gate is a bit more of an issue
