sebringimsa should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rod Nash wasn't too bad. Rusty French never raced supercars - group c in 1980s.

Most of the privateers in the mid to late 1990s were okay, none stand out as complete rubbish.

It's good to have a dream and achieve it , even if the Formula Ford training and so on to be a true contender is not really there.

Aside from Mr. Thexton, there were plenty more (somewhat more competitive) amateur drivers in the series back in the days when privateers were encouraged to enter the primary ATCC/Supercars series. Notably current Tickford team owners Rod Nash and Rusty French among others.

These days wealthy amateurs are more likely to enter the Australian Manufacturers Championship (production cars), Australian GT or Carrera Cup as their dollars seem to be largely unwanted in the Supercars series. [That is, unless the driver has a suitable professional racing background in Formula Ford / Super2 to go with the dollars they bring.]

But if it's a ball made out of leather inflated with air hit with a bat, racquet or club, played on a course, green or court by yubbies or left-wingers it SUCKS!!
