Seems to me that a standing start is virtually taking us back to the old days before SC where a race might be red-flagged and then re-started. If you're going to do a standing start, it begs the question on why you'd trundle round behind the SC for a few laps - might as well stop them, grid them up and be ready to go once the joint is cleared up.
Better to wait and see how it goes in F1 first I think, might work, might be a colossal dud.
