Just an update, I emailed the organisers and they did give the (fair if it effects the majority of the field) reasoning of trying to balance the field, newer v older cars. It is an extra expense buying 8 tyres for a one off but those are the rules and as I’ve said, I’ve no issue with that. I am led to believe it was the same last year. Im not quite sure i get the reasoning, surely 70’s cars are faster than 50s or 60s ones and thats just it. I dont enter a modern race and expect everyone to be slowed down for me. Suddenly makes the race a lot more expensive for us though....
