So, McLaren have denied Norris the opportunity to get some F1 race experience under his belt, before giving him a fulltime drive for 2019, taking over the vacant seat when Alonso retires at the end of the season.
Was it because McLaren believed Norris is so "talented" that they were afraid of another team poaching him from under their nose?
Or, was it because Norris is so "talented" that McLaren were afraid that their reserve driver could well beat their fulltime drivers, with an engine that McLaren had rejected?
