Compare the pair...
It's not a massive difference really, given the regulatory requirements.
- The A-pillar is about 10-cm further forward (necessitating longer doors too), as the real Mustang's long bonnet does not fit the COTF's A-pillar position.
- The top of the roof is a bit higher to clear the roll cage (approx 5cm).
- Since the OE bonnet shape cannot be used because of the moved A-pillar, therefore the front of the bonnet has been restyled to be a bit lower and shorter, either for performance or to comply to a maximum length rule.
- The Supercar Mustang is narrower (approx 5cm) than a real Mustang, due to the maximum width rule and mandated track in Supercars.
You'd think it would be easier to redesign the assortment of tubes (to avoid repositioning the A-pillar and height so dramatically) and allow the Mustang a wider track, so it could best represent the road model... But apparently that was too hard.
