Rounds four and five at Knockhill on 5th May produced two first-time winners
in the championship.
Harry Simpson, Ginetta G4 twin cam, won the first race, closely followed by
Tommy Gilmartin, Morgan +8. Positions were reversed in the second race,
with only 0.2 seconds separating the cars.
Robert Marshall, Ford Escort RS1800; Stan Bernard, Porsche 911 and George Leitch,
Ford Fiesta won their classes in each race.
Entries are considerably lower than in recent years – sixteen cars at this event.
This is a result of a combination of factors including: economic conditions, drivers retiring / moving to other Scottish championships / joining championships in England.
Hopefully, the next two rounds on 23rd June will see more entries.
